Model duty for Multi Tasking Staff
Sixth Pay Commission recommended that all Group ‘D’ posts will stand upgraded to Group ‘C’, Pay Band-I with Grade Pay of Rs.1800, along with the incumbents (after suitable training, wherever required).
Now, Model Recruitment Rules (Annex-I) have been framed for this cadre. Based on this model all the departments have been requested to amend the Recruitment Rules.
It has been suggested that the designation for this cadre may be declared as Multi Tasking Staff.
Their duties would broadly include:
Physical Maintenance of records of the Section.
General cleanliness & upkeep of the Section
Carrying of files & other papers within the building.
Photocopying, sending of FAX etc.
Other non-clerical work in the Section.
Assisting in routine office work like diary, despatch etc., including on computer
Delivering of dak (outside the building).

Post forum : Important avenue to get feedback on Project arrow Office
The objective of the Post Forum is to keep focus on the customer centric approach in the working of Project Arrow Post offices. Directorate Programme Office will be writing to each of Post Forum members periodically. Secretary (Posts) further desires that we must get the feedback about the working of Project Arrow Post offices through these Post Forum members. These Post Forum members should therefore be respectable and informed citizenry of the area through whom we can get correct feedback.
It is seen that in a number of cases Postal Officials have been enlisted as member of Post Forums, which do not serve any purpose. Postmasters of concerned Post offices should chair Post Forum meetings. No other postal official should be the member of the Post Forums, though they can attend Post Forum meetings in their offices.
It is the intention that for GPOs and bigger Head Post Offices there should be 8 -10 non-departmental Post Forum members, for MDG/LSG Offices 3-5 non-departmental members and for double and Single Hand Post offices 3 non-departmental Post Forum members should be enlisted. The consent of members should be obtained prior to their enlisting as members of Post Forums. At least one meeting with the members of Post Forum should be held every month. Postmaster and Divisional Superintendents should ensure that Post Forum member attend the meetings otherwise the basic purpose of having Post Forums will be defeated. Date, time and important discussions in Post Forum meetings should be properly recorded.
In view of above it is requested to revisit the constitution of Post Forum members. It is further requested to modify the data relating to Post Forum members. Care should be taken to mention complete addresses with PIN codes. Telephone numbers of Post Forum members should also be intimated.
It is once again reiterated that unless we have active Post Forum members, who regularly attend the meetings and Postmasters / Superintendents who take active interest in organizing these meetings, constitution of Post Forums will be mere formality. Sustainability of Project Arrow depends upon getting proper feedback and prompt remedial action.

CAT CHENNAI JUDGEMENT AGAINST PSS GR B EXAM 2003-06
In view of such circumstances, if this selection is restricted for the vacancy for the year 2003, no harm would be caused to any of the eligible candidates who faced the examination and thus selection for the year 2003 is held valid and the selection for the vacancies for 2004,2005 and,2006 are held to be defective, arbitrary irrational and discriminatory. Thus the claim of the applicants is allowed partly, directing the respondent to declare year wise vacancies for the years 2004,2005,2006 i9n respect of promotion to the cadre of P.S.S. Group B by preparing year wise list of eligible candidates and also vacancies and thereafter hold fresh Limited Departmental Competitive Examination9(LDCE) restricting the present selection only for the vacancies for the year 2003.
In result, the OA is partly allowed as above, with no order as to costs.
